The Carolina Panthers will open the 2017 regular season with a trip to San Francisco to take on the 49ers on Sunday afternoon. The last time Carolina faced the 49ers was Week 2 of last season, where Carolina won 46-27 thanks to Cam Newton’s 353 passing yards and four touchdowns.
This year could be different, though. The 49ers are 6-0 in their last six season openers, and 8-2 in their last ten. While they may not always continue that success through the rest of the season, they certainly know how to get off to a good start.
