The Panthers entered Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft with two picks — one in each round tonight — and traded down multiple times, turning those two picks into three quality players and an extra pick tomorrow. Oh, and they also managed to recoup the fourth round pick they traded to the Jets for Sam Darnold in the process.
My colleague MickSmiley is over the moon right now because the Panthers finally took the Trade Down Island approach to the draft, and while I normally don’t enjoy seeing the team trade down multiple times, I was fully on board with the way Scott Fitterer and Matt Rhule handled the draft today.
