The 17 year veteran is still in the running for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.

Carolina Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers finished third in the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Charity Challenge.

The eighteen year veteran finished behind Kyle Rudolph and Robbie Gould. His third place standing earns him a $5,000 donation from Nationwide to the charity of his choosing.

This challenge is not to be confused with the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award itself. This challenge is the hashtag that floods your Twitter in the last month or so of the season. The actual award will be given out on the eve of the Super Bowl at the NFL Awards Show and is decided on by a special panel of judges.
