Team owner Jerry Richardson is 80 years old and his playing days are long behind him so it’s unlikely that this news will affect Carolina’s depth at the quarterback position.
According to a report by Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer, Richardson will undergo shoulder surgery which will force him to miss the owner’s meetings in Boca Raton, Florida this week.
Here’s the details:
“Panthers President Danny Morrison will represent the team in Richardson’s absence in Boca Raton, according to spokesman Steven Drummond. The Carolina contingent is expected to arrive Sunday in Florida for the meetings, which will run through Wednesday.
