Saints expect same 'freak-play' threat from Cam Newton after concussion

METAIRIE, La. – The New Orleans Saints don’t expect Cam Newton to alter his style one bit after returning from a concussion this week.

Which means they expect the Carolina Panthers’ dual-threat MVP to be as dangerous as ever on Sunday in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

“When Cam’s in, he’s in,” said Saints safety Roman Harper, who spent the past two years as Newton’s teammate in Carolina. “He’s gonna have his designed runs, he’s gonna be himself, he can’t help that. And that’s why they probably didn’t play him last week.

“At the end of the day, he has to be himself for that offense to be effective.
