Safety Stevie Brown agrees to one-year deal with Panthers

Charlotte, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a one-year deal with safety Stevie Brown, according to the team’s official website.

Brown, along with veteran safety Donte Whitner, worked out for the Panthers in Charlotte last week.

The former Michigan Wolverine was selected with the 251st overall pick in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders.

Brown spent a short stint with the Panthers during training camp in 2011 after his release from Oakland. He signed with Carolina on Sept. 4, 2011 and was waived three days later.
