Ron Turner hiring sparks former Panther Steve Smith comment

Steve Smith has been gone from Carolina for three seasons but after spending over a decade in Charlotte, his close watch of the Panthers organization remains in tact. After announcing his official retirement in January, speculation on if Smith would be remembered as a Panthers or Baltimore Ravens player began.

Obviously, the majority of his career was spent with the Panthers but a far from amicable split, due in large part to current general manager Dave Gettleman, left feelings of animosity. Smith however proposed the idea of retiring a Panther in a 2014 interview with Ashley Fox of ESPN.
