I remember it like it was yesterday. Bradley, Jon, and myself were calling for the Carolina Panthers to sign Eric Reid on our Keep Sounding podcast during the 2018 season. After Da’Norris Searcy went on injured reserve with another concussion, the Panthers’ safety depth was comprised of Mike Adams (who was like 70 years old), Colin Jones, and a bunch of back end players. They needed a safety, and Eric Reid made sense. But this was the Panthers, they don’t sign players like Eric Reid, right?
Shockingly, it happened. Eric Reid was a Carolina Panther on a one-year deal, and the Panthers were fighting for playoff contention.
