The NFL roster cutdown rules are a little different this year. Instead of multiple rounds of cuts to whittle the roster down, there is just one date to cut the rosters from 90 down to 53. That date is August 29. It gives the coaching staff a few days to deliberate after the last weekend of preseason play.
