The tight end position is as important as it's ever been in the history of the NFL, and fortunately the position is in as good a shape for the Panthers as it's ever been. All of the contributors from last season return, headed by the first 1,000-yard tight end in franchise history.

After matching rookie wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin for the team lead with 1,008 receiving yards in 2014, Olsen signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him with Carolina through 2018. … In addition to breaking his own team record for receiving yards by a tight end, broke his own team record for receptions by a tight end with 84 to earn first Pro Bowl nod.
