CHARLOTTE – Rookie draft picks Zack Sanchez and Beau Sandland were among cuts made to reach the 53-man roster limit Saturday.
Sanchez, the Panthers’ fifth-round draft choice from Oklahoma, was competing for playing time at nickel cornerback. Sandland, the Panthers’ seventh-round pick from Montana State, was looking to provide depth behind veteran tight ends Greg Olsen and Ed Dickson.
Love played in 15 games with two starts for Carolina in 2015, recording three sacks and 19 tackles. Wegher was inactive for all but one game in 2015 but was hoping to provide depth at running back and value on special teams.
