The Carolina Panthers are trading the No. 39 pick and the No. 151 pick to the Chicago Bears for the No. 52, No. 83, and No. 204 picks.
This gives the Panthers more picks in the top 100 and potentially more ammunition for a different trade later on in a draft that they see as only having around 150 draftable players.
The Panthers picking up an extra third rounder is potentially huge for their efforts to rebuild a roster that lacks depth at multiple positions, and given the depth of the offensive tackles in this year’s draft class it’s safe to assume the Panthers believe there will still be quality linemen available later in the second round.
