The Carolina Panthers have cut punter Andy Lee this morning as they continue to trim the roster to the NFL mandated 53-player limit.
Joe Person was the first to confirm the news:
The battle between Palardy and Lee has been one of the biggest for the Panthers this preseason, and the Panthers have apparently decided to go with youth over experience.
The Panthers end up losing a 4th round pick in next year’s draft for one year of service from Lee, but it’s possible they could recoup a draft pick from another team if the reports of Graham Gano receiving trade interest are true.
