Yes, training camp is about more than football for the Carolina Panthers. It’s a time when grown men become kids with an NCAA formatted “hanging door basketball’’ tournament in which there might be more intensity and trash talking than any practice or preseason game.
“Currently all three quarterbacks are still in it,’’ backup quarterback Derek Anderson announced on Saturday. “I don’t know if anybody cares, but we have a big Elite 8 matchup coming, probably tonight after a walk-through.’’
One of the marquis games apparently is Anderson versus wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin.
