According to a report by Joe Person at the Charlotte Observer, General Manager Marty Hurney has fired longtime pro scouting director Mark Koncz.
Koncz has been with the Panthers as a member of the scouting staff since 2000, but he was promoted to director of player personnel in May by Dave Gettleman.

Koncz, 50, who played football at Kansas, had been with the Panthers since their inception.
He started as an intern in the ticket office in 1994 before moving to football operations the following year.
