The Carolina Panthers have placed kicker Graham Gano on injured reserve, ending his season.
According to general manager Marty Hurney (via Max Henson on Twitter), Gano couldn’t get past the nagging knee injury that has plagued him since the end of last season.
GM Marty Hurney: "Both Graham and the team were optimistic throughout this process that his leg would improve enough to allow him to kick. Unfortunately, Graham still had pain in his plant leg each time he tried to resume kicking."

I have no idea what the injury is, but it certainly isn’t good that it’s been lingering for about nine months now.
