According to a release by the team on Friday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers have placed tight end Richie Brockel on the injured reserve due to a lingering hamstring injury. Brockel played in just two games this season.
The fifth-year veteran played in 49 games for the Panthers since 2011. Brockel was also placed on the IR last season after sustaining a high ankle sprain in Week 4.
