Panthers part with pair of draft picks, finalize 53-man roster

Charlotte, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers announced 22 player moves Saturday afternoon to reach the National Football Leagues’ mandatory 53-man roster limit by 4 p.m.

Included in the roster cuts were Carolina's 2016 fifth-round pick Zack Sanchez and seventh-round selection Beau Sandland.

Sanchez was one-of-three cornerbacks selected by the Panthers in 2016 NFL Draft, along with James Bradberry and Daryl Worley.

The team also announced Saturday that backup offensive lineman Chris Scott has been suspended for the team’s first four games without pay for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing drugs.

Scott will be eligible to return for the team’s Week 5 Monday night matchup on Oct.
