It doesn’t look like Cam Newton will end up on the New England Patriots anytime soon, despite speculation to the contrary.
The former Carolina Panthers star was released amid strange timing earlier this offseason. This left his options regarding another starting spot in the NFL slim for 2020.
After odds were slashed by Sportsline on Newton joining the Patriots following their decision not to take a quarterback in the NFL Draft, Jeff Howe of the Athletic reported that the 2015 NFL Most Valuable Player is not a candidate to link up with head coach Bill Belichick, stating “nothing has changed” on this front.
