Panthers news: David Tepper to be approved by NFL owners

The sale of the Carolina Panthers to David Tepper is expected to be approved by the owners of the National Football League at Tuesday’s league meetings.

In order to get full approval from the owners, 24 of the 32 owners need to approve the sale. Tepper reached an agreement to purchase the franchise on Tuesday, with a winning bid of $ 2.2 billion. As Stephen Igoe of 247Sports notes, once the sale of the team is approved, Tepper will have to wait until July to fully take over as the owner of the team.

As Igoe notes, one of the reasons Tepper won the Panthers bid was the fact he had a good reputation within the league.
