The Carolina Panthers have announced that linebacker Shaq Thompson had a “shoulder procedure” on Thursday. Thompson was today listed as OUT with an ankle injury for Sunday’s game on the team’s official injury report.
This procedure should not impact his offseason plans. It has been described as a “clean up” procedure rather than an operation to repair any significant or specific damage.
The Carolina Panthers signed Thompson to a 4 year. $54M extension just weeks ago. He outperformed the fifth year of his rookie contract in his first full year as a starter following the departure of stalwart Thomas Davis in free agency.
