Panthers interim GM Marty Hurney on paid leave; NFL to investigate

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolina Panthers have placed interim general manager Marty Hurney on paid administrative league following a complaint of harassment by his ex-wife, team spokesman Steven Drummond said Tuesday.

Jeanne Hurney filed the complaint Friday but has since withdrawn it after the judge who heard the complaint denied a temporary restraining order during an ex parte hearing in which only Jeanie Hurney and her attorney appeared.

Marty Hurney, who interviewed for the full-time GM job last week, informed the team of the complaint Sunday, and the team then informed the league office, Drummond said.
