CHARLOTTE - The Panthers continued to strengthen their secondary in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, adding Tennessee safety Rashaan Gaulden with the 85th overall pick.
The Panthers then traded their second third-round selection, No. 88, to the Packers in exchange a fourth-round and a fifth-round pick to come Saturday - Nos. 101 and 147. The 101st pick is the first pick of the draft’s final day.
The 6-foot-1, 197-pound Gaulden has experience at safety and both at outside and nickel corner. He could compete for a role in a safety group headed by veteran Mike Adams that parted ways with Kurt Coleman and added Da’Norris Searcy in the offseason.
