CHARLOTTE – The Panthers moved to shore up their secondary with their second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, adding LSU cornerback Donte Jackson with the 55th overall pick.
The 5-foot-11, 178-pounder adds the kind of speed general manager Marty Hurney has said Carolina wants to inject. Jackson ran a 4.32 in the 40 at the NFL Combine, matching the fastest time at this year's event. Jackson could compete for a starting spot alongside James Bradberry in a cornerback rotation that lost Daryl Worley in a trade and added Ross Cockrell via free agency earlier in the offseason.
