The Carolina Panthers officially designated TE Greg Olsen and WR Damiere Byrd to return from injured reserve on Monday.
This officially opens three-week windows of time for the Panthers to add them to their active roster or they’ll spend the duration of the 2017 season on injured reserve.
Olsen was placed on injured reserve a few weeks into the regular season with a broken foot.
Olsen was considering holding out in order to secure a contract that would pay him among the top tight ends in the NFL, but he decided against skipping training camp and elected to report to the team.
