The Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals have released the names of the players who will not suit up for today’s game, and the Panthers have a few notable names on their list.
As expected, quarterback Cam Newton (foot) will not play today. Kyle Allen will start in his place. Defensive tackle Kawann Short (shoulder) will also have the day off, and Vernon Butler will get his first action this year while Short rests. Edge rusher Bruce Irvin is still out with a hamstring injury and has missed all three games so far this season.
