NFC South: Carolina Panthers enjoy bye, prepare for New York Giants

The Carolina Panthers bye week, originally thought to be inconvenient as no team really wants to play 13-plus consecutive weeks, really landed at an opportune time. Injuries have decimated the offensive line and while those players responsible for filling in have performed admirably, getting the starters back should only boost the offensive performance.

Elsewhere, tight end Greg Olsen continues to nurse a foot injury and defensively a new piece was added. Signing Eric Reid gives Carolina a proven NFL safety on the back end to play alongside veteran Mike Adams. The bye allowed for these two to build a rapport and should help Reid to prepare for his first game since December 31, 2017.
