While the NFL’s trade deadline is Tuesday, the Carolina Panthers soon could be getting a Pro Bowl tight end – their own.
Greg Olsen is scheduled to test his surgically repaired foot with the training staff Monday or Tuesday, according to Panthers coach Ron Rivera. Depending on how the foot responds, Olsen could return to practice this week.
“Before he does anything with us as coaches, he’s got to be able to go out and show the trainers that he’s ready to start taking steps – literally,” Rivera said Monday. “We’ll see how each day is.”
Olsen has been on injured reserve since Sept.
