At one time, quarterback Kyle Allen looked like he was in a prime position to compete for the backup quarterback job for the Carolina Panthers. Now, the picture is not so clear. With the Panthers drafting Will Grier in the 2019 NFL Draft, Allen now has some competition at the backup spot.
There is no doubt that Allen still has a lot of things to work on. Nevertheless, his performance against the New Orleans Saints in the season finale was encouraging. However, as many athletes are quick to tell you, what happened last season is in the past.
