Josh Norman wanted more action in reunion with Panthers

LANDOVER, Md. -- The reunion didn’t go as planned, as cornerback Josh Norman’s new team, the Washington Redskins and their defense, struggled with him, while his old one -- the Carolina Panthers -- flourished -- for one night at least -- without him.

Norman was a center piece in the buildup to Washington’s 26-15 loss to Carolina, but he wasn’t a central figure in the game. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton threw his way only a handful of times, one of which was a deep ball in which Norman nearly made a diving interception.

After the game, he and Newton embraced with an NBC-Channel 4 camera picking up their sound -- Newton told him, “I’ll take football.
