John Miller placed on reserve/COVID-19 list

The Carolina Panthers have announced that starting right guard John Miller has been placed on the club’s reserve/COVID-19 list. That means he is unable to practice or be at team facilities until he has been medically cleared to return. That could put him in jeopardy of missing Sunday’s season opener against the New York Jets.

Miller was placed on the list because he was either considered a close contact with a known COVID-19 patient or because he tested positive for the disease himself. The Panthers are not allowed, per NFL rules, to state which is the case for a specific player.
