Jerry Richardson and David Tepper agree to terms of sale of the Carolina Panthers, per report

Jerry Richardson has agreed to sell the Carolina Panthers to David Tepper for $2.2 billion in cash, according to Katie Peralta of the Charlotte Observer. The deal is expected to be signed today.

Hedge fund manager David Tepper expected to sign a deal to buy the Panthers for $2.2 billion in cash today, source close to the matter tells @theobserver. Story to come.

Tepper is the founder of hedge fund Appaloosa Management and has been a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers since 2009.
