Our first controversial play in Super Bowl 50 comes on the Carolina Panthers second drive of the game. Panthers QB Cam Newton threw a quick pass to WR Jerricho Cotchery who had the ball hit him in stride before he bobbled it. Despite bobbling it, Cotchery appeared to regain control of the ball on the way to the ground.
CBS's Mike Carey predicted it would be a catch but he was wrong. The refs upheld the call on a challenge from Ron Rivera and ruled it incomplete. What do you think?
To make matters worse for Carolina, the Broncos strip-sacked Cam Newton two plays later and a scored a touchdown off of the fumble.
