Greg Hardy easily the worst franchise tag decision in Panthers' history

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolina Panthers are set to use the franchise tag for the seventh time in team history with Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kawann Short.

The period to use the tag begins on Wednesday and runs through March 1.

So what happened to the other six players Carolina tagged? It’s not a particularly pretty picture, with the last two (Josh Norman and Greg Hardy) in particular not working out.

Only two of the six went on to have a productive long-term career with the Panthers beyond the tag year.
