Former Panther Everette Brown hired as linebackers coach

The Carolina Panthers have hired 2009 second round pick Everette Brown to be their assistant linebackers coach. Brown is famously part of Marty Hurney’s questionable history with over-drafting undersized defensive linemen. Hurney traded a 2010 first round pick to move up in the 2009 second round to make the selection. Brown bounced around the league until 2015, but struggled to make an impact on the field. He only played two seasons with the Panthers.

The Panthers have hired Everette Brown as their assistant linebackers coach, per source. Brown was drafted by the team in 2009 and spent last training camp as a coaching intern with the team.
