The Carolina Panthers fought their way back from an early 17-0 deficit but ran out of time against an inspired Washington bunch. After being embarassed on Monday Night Football one week ago, the Redskins appeared refocused, rebounding from their dismal performance.
A few early Panthers mistakes helped build their opponents confidence and despite Carolina rebounding after the half, they were limited to only one field goal scoring drive in the third quarter. With Washington playing keep away, Carolina had just three total second half possessions – the field goal, a touchdown with a two-point conversion and the final game ending drive.
