According to a tweet from Jourdan Rodrigue, the Carolina Panthers have parted ways with offensive tackle Zach Banner.
In case you forgot (or didn’t know), Banner is the guy who rented a Kia Soul at 4 a.m. to make it to Charlotte in time for OTAs because he couldn’t get a flight into town. To be honest, cutting him after that display of dedication is a little cold-hearted, if you ask me. (Assuming he’s not injured, of course.)
Banner’s release opens up a roster spot for the Panthers, and it’s safe to assume they’ll use that open spot to bring in a project player they want to take a closer look at during offseason workouts.
