The Carolina Panthers caused a stir when they gave running back Christian McCaffrey a new four-year extension that ties him to the franchise until 2025.
Their commitment to the player will see the All-Pro earn $64 million over the duration of his deal. It could also spell good news for other running backs who are looking to get paid this offseason from the NFL Draft class of 2017 such as Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara, and Aaron Jones.
Much has been made as to whether McCaffrey is worthy of such a financial investment.
