Carolina Panthers sign wide receiver Chris Hogan to one-year contract

The Carolina Panthers have provided franchise quarterback Cam Newton with another weapon on offense by signing free agent wide receiver Chris Hogan to a one-year contract, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Hogan has been in the league since 2012 and has spent time with the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots. He tallied 35 receptions for 532 yards and three touchdowns for New England last season. In his seven-year career he has 194 receptions for 2,610 yards and 18 touchdowns.

This is a fantastic value signing for the Panthers as Hogan provides quarterback Cam Newton with a quality option at wide receiver.
