The Carolina Panthers have addressed their increasingly slim running back depth by signing undrafted free agent rookie Rodney Smith to their practice squad. They originally signed him after the draft this year. He remained with the team through training camp but did not make either the regular roster or the practice squad at the time of initial cuts.
