Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was ruled out well before game time but Kyle Allen proved he could keep the team in contention with an impressive performance against the Cardinals one week ago. Four touchdown passes kept the Panthers playoff hopes alive after an impressive 38-20 win over Arizona and despite an inability to protect the football in the pocket, Allen again led Carolina to victory.
The Panthers backup quarterback fumbled three times while under pressure or trying to scramble for yardage but fortunately, it only resulted in seven points for the opposition. During each of the first two turnovers, the Panthers forced a punt and interception of their own before finally yielding a touchdown to the Texans.
