Rookie return specialist Greg Dortch has been promoted from the Carolina Panthers practice squad to their regular roster. They have waived Donte Moncrief in a corresponding roster move.
Dortch is the only reliable punt returner the Panthers have fielded this season, even though he only saw action in one game. Hopefully he will provide some stability on special teams while the rest of the team deals with staff shakeups in the wake of Ron Rivera’s departure and secondary coach Perry Fewell’s ascendance to the interim head coach position.
Moncrief, meanwhile, saw limited game action in his few weeks with the Panthers and did not record a single reception.
