Carolina Panthers place tight end Greg Olsen on injured reserve

The Panthers have officially moved Greg Olsen to injured reserve. His roster spot has already been filled by calling up rookie fullback Alex Armah, their sixth round draft pick, from the practice squad. Olsen was originally expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks with a fractured foot. He is now required to wait a full 8 weeks before being eligible to return to the active roster.

The timeline works out well in Olsen’s favor, with his eligibility to return coming right before the Panthers week 11 bye. With no pressure to rush back from rehab, Greg should be more than ready for their week 12 match up with the New York Jets.
