Carolina Panthers expected to activate cornerback Eli Apple from injured reserve

The Panthers are expected to active cornerback Eli Apple from injured reserve today, according to a report from NFL insider Mike Garafolo.

Apple has battled injuries throughout the offseason and was placed on injured reserve prior to the team’s Week 1 game against the Raiders.

Apple (ankle/foot) goes on IR after battling through injuries for a significant part of training camp. Aside from the ankle and foot, Apple has also dealt with a hamstring injury. Apple will be eligible to re-join the active roster after three weeks if Carolina chooses to make that designation.
