Outside of South Carolina, Damiere Byrd is a relative unknown. Since he was not even the primary receiver on his college squad, many football fans in the Palmetto State may not even be familiar with the former South Carolina Gamecock. But as a recent undrafted free agent signed by the Carolina Panthers, his name is now a topic of conversation among the Carolina Panther faithful.
With Damiere Byrd, the Panthers have discovered a player worth developing. At 5’9” and roughly 170 pounds, Byrd will have to add muscle to his frame in order to withstand tackles in the NFL.
