The offseason has been a wild ride for the Carolina Panthers, and it won’t slow down as Matt Rhule is challenged with revamping the roster. Filling some needs at defense is going to be crucial. The unexpected retirement of Luke Kuechly doesn’t make it any easier for the role in the middle. Aside from Kuechly, the first phase of free agency begins in a little over a month and the Panthers defense could take additional big hits. With the likes of Tre Boston, James Bradberry, and Gerald McCoy becoming free agents, their potential departures would cause an immediate need for Carolina.
