Bank of America Stadium has been home to the Carolina Panthers since the team’s inception following one season at Clemson University during construction. Over time the crowds have shifted from numerous visiting fans to those clad in black and blue supporting the hometown team.
While a lot of this transition was the result of people having other NFL teams to root for with no franchise in the Carolinas, things are beginning to change as a new generation matures, growing up surrounded by Carolina Panthers football.
Quarterback Cam Newton has experienced a change in the culture surrounding support for the Panthers, especially since he entered the NFL as a rookie in the 2011 season.
