Charlotte, N.C. — The vast majority of Carolina Panthers starters watched from the sideline as their teammates defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 18-6 at waterlogged Bank of America Stadium Thursday night.
With the deadline for final roster cuts set for Saturday at 4 p.m., Thursday was the final rehearsal for reserve players to make their case for a spot on the Panthers’ 53-man roster.
Several players on the bubble shined in the team’s final preseason game of 2016, including wide receiver Brenton Bersin (six catches for 89 yards), running back Cameron Artis-Payne (18 carries for 77 yards) and linebacker Jeremy Cash, who led the team with seven tackles.
