The Panthers have the extremely difficult task of cutting their roster down from 79 players to 53 players by the league’s 4 p.m. ET deadline today (Saturday, September 5). No matter which players make it and which ones don’t, this team will look a lot different than it did in 2019. The Panthers are entering the first year of a (hopefully short) rebuild, and new head coach Matt Rhule will have an opportunity to build the roster to his preference. There will be some familiar faces, but at least half of the roster will be entirely new players.
