Carolina Panthers | 2 interviews for GM job set | The Herald

The Carolina Panthers’ search for a full-time general manager will begin in earnest this week when two external candidates meet with the team about the position held on an interim basis by Marty Hurney.

Houston Texans assistant GM Jimmy Raye III will interview on Thursday, followed by Buffalo Bills assistant college scouting director Lake Dawson on Friday, according to a team source.

Hurney, the interim GM since July following Dave Gettleman’s abrupt firing, is a candidate for the full-time job. Hurney also is expected to meet with a search committee that includes chief operating officer Tina Becker, head coach Ron Rivera, communications director Steven Drummond and associate counsel Steve Argeris.
